: Hello,

: I'm the new owner of a BMW 320i, 1981 model.
: Dumb Question: The fuel lines going to the injectors seem to be a type of clear plastic. Somewhat yellowed by age. Should these lines be replaced with metal lines or other more durable material ? Isn't it a good idea to take it to a shop to have this work done ? Thans for your help !

The original plastic fuel lines work very well, but if you must change them, it is a simple procedure, requiring very few special tools, just a injector puller, available at any import auto parts store (Schley products makes it) Once the injectors are out, just disconnect the banjo bolts at the fuel distributer. Also be sure to have new copper O-rings, and injector seals. Good luck!
