: Hi all,

:It seems like it still a lot of work to get the intake off to check the rubber underneath. Is there a common failure that happens when these things backfire?

: I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks,

Before you take it all apart, check the rubber duct between the air flow meter and the throttle. Those have been known to split along a seam and be nearly invisible. You have to take out the air filter to get at it.

good luck
