: Hi, I was just wondering how to change a fuel pump for a late 70's, 320i. Does it serve any difficulty or is it pretty easy. PLease tell me some things I would have to watch out for when changing a fuel pump if their are any.
: thanx

Changing the pump is really quite easy. It is located at the r rear corner of the car. This means you will have to jack it up, and make sure to use a good axle stand as well!!! Disconnect the battery, as you have live power wire going to pump, and it will leak gas. Disconnect the 2 wires going to the pump, undo the fuel lines, and loosen the large clamp holding the pump in place. Installation is the reverse of removal. Always use new copper O-rings when reinstalling the fuel lines. Hope this helps, and good luck, Al
