Well it basically depends on what the fuse is for..

Like some fused need to be bigger because more power is going throught it, and other are small... and less power is going through it.

So the number "8" for instace woud be an 8 amp fuse.. Like an 8 amp fuse would be for all your lights, (fog/regular) high beams would use a 16 amp fuse though....
