Hi folks,

One of the upper radiator hoses on my 320i developed a small hole. Most or all of the radiator fluid was lost and the engine overheated. All the hoses have been replaced. But now, the car doesn't seem to run right. The engine seems to be running rougher than before. I'd say that the engine is not as smooth and quiet as before. There seems to be more "knock" or vibration at idle. The engine seems to lack power. The car is definitely driveable, and works OK. It may all be a coincidence, but all these things happened yesterday. If any of you have any suggestions as to what could be the problem, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks !

I'd say you've blown your head gasket!! Your loss of power is due to your lack of compression. Stop driving your car. Have the cyl. removed and reconditioned (in all probability the cyl. head may be warped... hopefully it is still salvagable). If coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber and you continue to drive this car you are risking further damage to your pistons and cyl. liners!!! (not to mention other items) Are you continuing to lose coolant?? Is your oil level rising???
Bottom line is... time for a rebuild.
