What to do when I install a gearbox without the mechanical speedo drive? Can I put a diff on the car with a speed sensor and install a electronic speedo? Any help would be great, thanks!

I'm not too sure about putting a later model diff into your E21 ,but I can tell you that Metric Mechanic does sell a electronic speedo pickup
kit.It consists of a chopper wheel that mounts between your halfshaft and diff output flange.Also included is a pickup with a mount that allows it to be installed on a rearend cover bolt.Then all you need is the electronic speedo out of the donor car.
