Swapping to a s14 M3 engine, or a turbo will sure as hell bump you out of any IT class racing! I don't even want to know what you'de be running against. Your first thought should be figuring out what you want to do with the car in the long run. If a track car is what you want, get a SCCA rules book, and start from there. If you want a smokin street car, go for the s14. Please do us all a favour, and refrain from street racing with those "pesky" Hondas. E21s are already receiving a bit of a "punk kid" reputation in my area at least. Sorry for the rant, Al
Hehe, but I am a "punk kid" :P. Thanks Al. I'm getting the rulebook for SCCA tomorrow. I already have 2" exhaust from the collector on back (high flow cat & muffler) so I'm already at the next level. Thanks for the input. I may just get an M3 for my regular car.
You could ALSO bump your displacement up to 2.0L by doing a few things:
1. get yourself a 2.0L crank
2. get 2002tii pistons. The 1.8L head flows better than the 2.0L head, so I guess you could just elave the 1.8L head on it.
3. maybe do a first or second overbore...
This should get you to 2.0L status, and about 20 horsepower more.
