What I was looking for was a rich full sound encompassing the full range and not just the high tinny sound of my current speakers. Where can I get the speakers that you mentioned? To clarify you run 4x6's in the kick panels and in the rear, and in the door you are putting 6.5x3's? Yes I was going to put a sub in at some point, but not too much bass as I do not want the bass to be heard before the car is seen.

The stock speaker locations are 4/6m. 2 in the rear package tray, and 2 in the kick panels. The back will accomodate most and you can use a set of nice plates. the front locations are tight, if you use plates you usually cannot get the grills on them. the glove box will probably rub.

Not sure what your budget is, or if you want to modify, but the front doors have plenty of room for component speakers. I run Boston Proseries 4.5 in the factory locations, and 4.2 in the doors right now, I'm about to switch to a Boston Proseries 6.5/3 in the doors.

If you just want bolt in, any set of nice 4/6 m will go in and sound much inproved. you will probably have to get the grills from bmw or reuse the old ones.

I run a changer, so can't help there. Subwoofers are a whole nother ordeal, so if you are getting tha tserious let me know and we can go down that road too.
