I have a similar problem with my 320/6 that has been Federalized US with only the addition of a 140mph speedo (no KpH markings). Today, timing the car on our interstate highway mile markers, the odometer is spang-on, (I think this is the key indicator)but to do a mile in 1 minute (60mph) the speedo must read 72. I have decided that since the odometer is okay, then it's not an unknown gearing change or a miss-matched speedo. I believe the needle has slipped on the speedo shaft. On my other E-21's the speedo at rest on zero the needle is hard against the peg. This one floats on the peg at rest. At least, what I will do is remove the speedo and pull the needle from the shaft (it's a light press-fit)and reset it on an offset of about -10 to 15mph. So when I want to be legal on the Interstates, I can. It bothers me to be clocking 85 to stay with traffic, even though we're all "only" doing 70-75. I'll bet it bothers you, too!. Will advise later. If you try it first, let me know what you find.
