I think that hunting idle means it's a little rich. If it settles out as the engine warms up, I wouldn't worry.

BTW when I bought my car the O2 sensor was overage and disconnected. I replaced it and reconnected and got the same symptoms -- except mine does not settle out as the car warms up. So I disconnected the sensor again, and momma's happy with her smooth idle.
