The solution to this problem is to replace the warm up regualtor. I did this over the weekend. The problem with my old warm up regulator was the connection on the electrical point (2 prongs) was corroded. It is possible that cleaning of the electrical points may have worked, but I had already purchased a replacement.


I'm interested in this one. I got the same problem. Someone give an answer, please!


I have the same problem with my 1982 320i. I replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump and spark plugs to no avail. I checked the heat/time switch, the cold start valve. Both were operational. My next guess is the warm-up regulator. Hopefully I will replace it this coming weekend. Please let me know if you have any luck with the warm-up regulator. Thanks.
