Yes, you must replace the warm up regulator. However, try cleaning the contact points (2 prongs) as they may be corroded, prior to purchasing a replacement. Good luck.

My O2 sensor has been disconnected for a long time, before I bought the car. I didn't realize this until my o2 light came on and I went to replace it/reset the light. (interstingly enough, the car passed inspection for emissions sans o2 sensor!)

Now, when the car is started from cold, the idle oscilates (hunts) for a few minutes until the temp gauge just comes off the nail. Then everything is fine (usually about 2 minutes).

What would cause this? Is this my warm-up regulator?
