On my 528i, I made replacements for the bumper shocks from schecule 40 PVC pipe (the rigid white heavy wall pipe). Use the shock body (1 1/2 inch?) and tube to the bumper (1 1/4 inch?) as sizes for the pipe, and make it as long as the compressed shock. That brings the bumper closer and takes off some weight.

Yeah, I think the Euro bumpers look better too...
