I would change the belt any way for your own peace of mind as for the auto trans have yet to see one so I don't know
I bought a 81 323i with 140.000k on it, it has been parked for 5 years, the owner had the timingbelt replaced for a new one just before he put the car away for 5 years, each year he drove a bit, is this belt still good or can it dry out?
How is the autotransmission in a 323i? is it reliable?
