Hi From the Olympic City (archive)

I recently joined the E21 Digest and was soon overwhelmed by the volumn of emails. The information is out of my league as my technical knowledge is limited. Howvever some of the data is useful. I once owned a '79 323i...but sold it 10 yrs ago. Now I'm keen to relive my youth...

As I am looking for a 323i, I would appreciate some tips, what to look and listen for when test driving. Bear in mind I have very basic/general knowledge of engines..so keep it simple.

I have a couple of simple questions that I have been curious about..

1) I noticed that all E21's with fuel injection had a characteristic "squeal" or "whistle". I've always wanted to know why? I'm told that to Fuel Injection is expensive to replace, is this so?

2) Are parts for the interior easy to get - seats, door trims etc...

3) I'd like to get a 323 Owners Manual..anybody got a spare...
