It may not be really overheat coz' some electical problems makes a wrong reading of the gauge :

1. Bad ground contact ( sand your battery tray & your negative contact of the battery, jump one more ground from the battery or from the alternator)
2. Bad temp. sensor ( change it, cheap )
3. Bad gauge ( expensive but it's not very common promlem )


Do step 1 first (it's easy ) if not work do step 2 & before you decide to taking out your gauge out, flush your raidator & check the fans & water pump if they work probably.
