When i hit the gas pedal, the car lags for a short ammount of time. Could this be the air filter? spark plugs? any comments welcome.

thanks,
alex

This is a tough one, Alex, and you have not provided any information for a diagnosis. Round up the usual suspects and start from the beginning:
1. Do the basic tune-up maintenance like replace spark plugs, replace filters, check timing.
2. Use some Techron to clean out the system, go on a fast freeway run.
3. Next level: adjust valves, check for vacuum leaks, replace any suspicious hoses, new gasoline filter.
4. Next level: replace fuel injectors, boots, check injection system.
5. Check to be sure that your clutch or auto trans. is not slipping.
