Say nothing to the shop. Go there when the shop is closed and tow your car home. Contact the shop owner and ask him to send you an itemized bill. If it is ridiculous, do not pay anything. Get the local consumer protection authorities involved. If necesary, talk to a lawyer and take the shop owner to court if he attempts to collect on a ridiculous bill. Tell anyone who will listen not to ever go to this shop. Join the BMWCCA and ask members in your local area to recommend a good shop. Or take the car to a reputable BMW dealer that has been in the BMW business for a long time. It will be expensive, but they will probably fix it right, and if they don't you at least have some recourse through the company and/or BMWCCA. Good Luck.
