Use feeler guages and do it to spec. Besides the car wont run if the vavle cover is off if there are no vacuum leaks.



Planning on replacing valve cover gasket this weekend, thought it would be a good time to quiet things down some. Have always tightened until noise stops then reverse 1/2 turn. Is this safe? thanks t.g.
