Does the 84 320i have a baby six? I thought it was a four-banger.......
The blocks are the same. Only pistons and crankshaft are different.

Oliver

The engine block of my 1983 323i (6 cylinders) has hairline cracks at three of the bolt holes for the cylinder head, and has to be replaced. 323i blocks are hard to find in the Philippines, but used 320i blocks are available. Both blocks have 8 cm. bores (from manuals). Are these two blocks interchangeable? Please help!!
