Help on Heat Shield! (archive)

Hello,

I recenlety put a new air filter on my 81 320i and I REALLY need a Heat sheild of some sort around it so that the air will be cool, not HOT like it is.. You can see a few pics of it here...

Any suggestions on what I shoud make it out of? I have access to a wire feed welder and I know how to weld if that what It takes. Any suggestions on what I can make?... Anybody done a simular thing to
there car and have pics? Suggestions.. thanx..
