I had a similar problem that haunted me for months. Fortunately, I have two of these cars in the driveway and was able to interchange parts. HOWEVER... no part made any difference. Turned out to be a corroded ground strap to the alternator. This little baby gets a coating of oil on every oil change and is subject to the corrosive acids in motor oil. Maybe you could look there. BTW... later on, the same or almost same, problems came back and it turned out to be bad voltage regulator (it's inside alternator). I have a suspicion that it was probably caused by repeated ground faults from the corroded ground cable...but I am not a mechanic, so that's just a wild guess.
