How much would a carb conversion cost? single/dual carbs?

Top End Performance (www.racetep.com) will sell you the kit for about $995, OR you can get a complete rebuilt engine WITH 40s or 45s for about $3K, I think. Check with those guys, look through their online catalog, download it, print it, look through it again, etc. I have a '73 2002 that's going to get a high comp. rebuild this winter, and I'm looking at about $1500 in parts and machine work. The rebuilding I'll do myself. I got a set of barely used carbs from another 02 owner about 2 months ago for $400 COMPLETE (40 DCOEs with everything I need to put them on the 02). It's a good move to dump that K-jetronic. I had an '83 320i that I was going to convert to dual 40s but decided to get the 02 instead because the E21 geometry is all messed up.
