Vern,

I don't know about all, but at least on my 323i there is an overflow tank. Not sure why there isn't one on the average US 320i, smaller radiator?

I've also never seen any kind of conversion available, usually people seem to solve their cooling problems by replacing the things you already have.

I have a 1980 320i that was having some overheating problems until I replaced everything. First the thermostat, then the sensors, then the radiator, & last but not least, I am going to replace the water pump this weekend. My overheating problems appears to be solved.

One thing, while doing all this stuff, I was amazed to see that this car does not have an overflow tank. Has anyone ever installed one and do you have any suggestions.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Vern.

No overflow tank in these series as far as I know...my 81 320i does not, but I fixed the overheating problem replacing my water pump.
I have not heard of any conversion kits either.

Good Luck
