Hardy & Beck turbo??? (archive)

So I checked out an '82 320iS yesterday afternoon, a bit rusty but in good enough condition to serve as a beater and get me around town through this Chicago winter. I started up the car, popped the hood and low and behold, a turbocharger that read Hardy & Beck. Does anyone out there have any info about what I have stumbled upon? The car appears to be in relatively stock condition other than the turbo. How hard to come by are these systems and where could I get information about getting it operable and in good working order again? I should have the car in my possession within a week or two with pics soon to follow. Thanks in advance for the help.
