All excellent advice.

I looked at the car and it's not quite as nice as I was lead to believe. It hasn't been entirely repainted, only the roof and trunk lid. The reupholstry of the door panels was pretty tacky as well. There was also a couple of dents in the car. Nothing major, but they were noticeable. The guy was quoting the NADA value of $3050 and isn't really willing to move from that number.

It also felt like the syncros in 2nd gear might be starting to go. I got a little grind going from 1st to 2nd. Maybe that's just the way these cars are. I haven't driven a 320i much. This car didn't have power steering, did any of them???

My '90 5 series sure felt like a new car on the way home...
