Alex,
According to my owners handbook for '82 323i, the time should only appear when you press TIME. The logic I think is to reduce the glare of the big red LED's in your face when driving, and its only a quick press of the button to see the time. thats why the button is relatively large. This way your vision is focussed on the important things like the tach and temp gauges.

Hi everyone, I have just bought this dashboard (used and cheap) and everything works ok, but the LED clock. It only shows the time when the TIME button is pressed. It does work fine, I mean the time is correct but I can only display it when I press that button. Any ideas???
