I used one of those kits on my '79 320i. After I finished, my heater control valve leaks. I investigated on the BMWCCA tech tips page, and got the advice that these kits were not recomended.
I don't know... my car runs cooler now, and maybe the leak was just being capped by particles in the coolant prior to being flushed.
Hope that this helps, maybe you should check out those tech tips yourself.

I'm considering buying one of those Prestone cooling system flush kits and installing it on my 83 320i. Has anyone done so? Does it really do a better job than just draining the system completely and filling it back up?

Thanks,

RGW
