Hello

My 320 i once warmed up has an erratic idle. Shall I change the O2 sensor?

If O2 sensor is dead, it will not generate the needed signal voltage, so the computer will think it's too lean and compensate by making it too rich. Before changing it, check with a digital multimeter -- should put out a little under a half volt (.47V if the mixture is right on). If it's reading less than .1V, the sensor is probably dead. However if you're getting about .3V, the sensor is working and telling you the idle really is too lean--time to check for vacuum leaks.

Good luck with it.

Karl
