it is normal practice to replace both the wheelbearings on the axle set so my advise is to replace the other side just to be safe. My wheel was makeing a grinding noise on the front right so i looked at it and it looked trashed. when i went to replace the left, it looked OK but it did need to be replaced. It looks like your hub wasn't tight enough so the looseness let the wheel off allignment. If nothing else, ask the mechanic if he would show you the problem with the drive shaft, any abnormalities should show. let me know how it goes!
