I bought my 77 320i a couple of weeks ago. At first my hazard lights were the doing the same thing. Then it effected left and right blinkers. I took it a european autoworks shop and the mechanic told me it was the hazard switch. He replaced the hazard switch in two seconds and my problem was solved. I hope this helps. If not, good luck!

Hey I don't like the cold either but when the outside air temps go down around 20 degrees my 79 320i directionals flash irratic and fast..along with the hazard indicator light activating (only when signaling left) bizzare to say the least...when the car warms up everything gets back to normal..I figure it's the flasher but maybe this is something else altogether..it's something I can deal with because I guess because it goes away..but it is strange occurance and I don't want it to mature into something weirder..thanks in advance..
