Go for the "Recaro". I installed the Recaro seats on may 1980 320i when it was less than one year old. Never regret! You have to purchase the adapter plate from Recaro as well. It took me 5 minutes to install a seat. I did send the seat back to the dealer to remove the female end safety buckle and I transferred it to the steel frame adapter. It may be a bit expansive, but you can take the Recaro seat out for your new car next time.

Hello friends! I'm remodeling a 79 320i and am interested in installing some different seats than the backbreaking factory models. Does anyone know of a type of car seat to suggest that might fit with minimal headache and re-engineering/? Much thanks
