Hi Gang!

You've all been so helpful to me with my 320is, so I thought I'd throw another one at ya'. I'm realy hoping you can help me nail down the problem too, as I've gotta' have the car back on the road by next Tuesday.

OK... here's the problem...

The car has been runnning absolutely fine with no problems what-so-ever. A little under a year ago, I had to replace quite a few Vacuum lines. Which I did. Had the card tuned, and like I said earlier.. "The car' been running fine."

About a week ago, I replaced the Alternator as the old one wouldn't hold a charge. I bought a used one from the local Pick-A-Part, bolted it in and "Voila!" ... the car was to normal. OK..
so a few days later on the way home from work, I pull up to a red light and the car dies one me. I try starting it up again 'n' dang-it! ... "The car doesn't start."

So, I pull off to the side of the road to see if I can figure it out. I see nothing out of the ordinary, and try starting the car again.. BOOM! "It starts 'n' gets me home." Well, I thought it was just a fluke.

The next day.. I start the car for work, head up the street to a stop sign and dang it... "It dies out again." Again, I let the car sit for maybe 10 min's, and it starts right up, no problem.

Needless to say, it's very frustrating and I'm really nervous about driving the car to work. But, it's my own operable car at the moment.

My question is...

"Does it sound as though I need to replace the Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, or what?" I really don;t have a clue about this and I really need to be able to get this car to work 'n' back.

Any help you guys can provide me, would greatly be appreciated.

I hope to hear from someone soon.

Kind Regards,

Ken
