Keith, first of all what state do you live in? Under the UCC all merchants, vendors and people that conduct business in that state must by law garantue that the service or good they are performning will indeed satisfy the terms under which the contract originated. if you paid your mechanic to fix your car and he accepted payment for doing so then he is by law agreeing to adhere to the terms both of you decided on. if the car ran fine for a few days and he did put no warranty on the bill then you might have a problem. Any reputable shop would stand by their workmanship and probably fix the problem. if he wrote down no warranty on the bill then I would find out if it is a common practice he does on a of his bills or if this was specific to yours. Check your local laws regarding service industrys specifically garages. Call the BBB and see if he has any other claims against him. If it wasnt a shop and it was a friend then if you have a bill for the repair work and your car still doesnt run then you might have a case in small claims court. I too have a new engine and it might have a bad rod bearing. go figure.

well, I just had a motor put in my car by a mechanic and well, I also threw a rod 4 days later...... Does any of the parts from a 2.3 block fit into a 2.7 block... The motor I had him build was 2.7 block, w/ a shrick cam and all the works. If the head is good, will I be able to use it on a 2.3 block...I pulled the 2.3 liter out because it smoked but, I need a car and the mechanic is trying to be a prick and not want anything to do w/ backing his service up...The worst thing is, he wrote on my bill of sale, NO WARRANTY..... I think he may have known something... well anyways, someone help me.... my 4 day motor cost me $3000......!!!!! thank you...:)
