Got a question for ya: My steering wheel shakes when I tap on the brake pedal. The harder I tap on it the more it shakes. I experience minimal shimmy otherwise. Also I experience the same steering wheel maneuver when I run into a bump (that's when i am not paying enough attention to road details!). In short, car's not tight. It's more scary when I have to come to an abrupt stop.
I replaced both front rotors 3 months ago plus both control arms. Anyone know what's causing the above?
Another question is how do I know when to replace my
timing belt?
Thanks your help.

First of all any part in the front end can cause a shimmy. you need to jack up the front and shake one tire and look at all of the ball joint and tie rod end and make sure that they have no play in them, second check the idle arm and the drag link. I hope you put new brake pads with the new rotors, right?
And for the timing belt.
ever 60,000 miles but your car shouldn't have one.
It should be a chain. Which you will probably never replace.
