There's a lot of talk of this in the backgound. The fact that the 320i is slooow is not something that anyone wants to admit up front on the board. Apparently there's enough room for a small block chevy in the engine bay of the E21. As said, the front end would most likely need to be stiffened up, but I've seen pictures and know it can be done. Apparently, at the drags (which is all these cars can be used for, turning is not an issue with that much weight up front) they're supposed to pull 13 flats with a stock 4bbl V8. A slight improvement over stock.
