That time is coming up gentlemen. I promised my old lady to rebuild her engine when she reaches 300,000km. Right now she's hit 272,000km. Figure it's about time I start thinking about my promise.

She's an 81 320i 5 spd, no air. But I want to put in a faster motor with provisions for air. Mechanics is not my field of expertise so I'll have to rely on you good fellas on the board and a trustworthy mechanic. What kind of motor do you recommend? What else needs to be changed in the process; tranny? and what kind of cost am I looking at?

I live in Canada.
