I know of a way, but its for 4x4's to clear bigger tires. first figure out how the wheel hits, and the 'maximum reach' of the tire. then cut the fender asto leave 1/2" to fold in, so it will be like the original fender, with 4x4's you can just get bushwhacker fenders(big plastic flares) that cover up most mistakes. now im not sure if your paint will crack, but whatever you do be sure to prime/paint any bare metal when left over.
