PH2870 is a VW/Audi application. It does fit, but its not the correct filter for your BMW. I don't have the numbers on hand, but a VW diesel filter will also fit, as will a 2.2/2.5L Chrysler filter. For that matter, if my memeory serves me correctly, a PH8 filter for a Ford V8 will also fit. Just because it fits, doesen't mean its correct! Also, ask how many people on this forum have lost engines to a POS Fram filter. I had one on my old ITC VW Scirocco. After 3 hard laps, the damn filter had nearly exploded, It was actually pumping like a heart! NEVER again would I be SO CHEAP as to use a Fram. My cars only see Mahle, Mann, Bosch, or dealer filters. Its hardly worth saving a buck or two in this department.

Cheers,

Al

Tired of paying outrageous money for oil filters? A FRAM PH2870-A will fit your 320i. It's a bit longer so its a lot easier to get at and its a hell of a lot cheaper. It also fits Audi 80/90 4 cyl.
