1997 is not a vintage. The E36 328iC is an excellent car. 35,000kms is pretty good, that's 8750kms a year. that's nothing. If you're wallet can afford it, then go for it. BMW engines are bullet proof. My '83 733i has 306000kms on her without a rebuild, and she's still going strong.
