Assuming the ring and pinion hasn't been changed, the number's stamped into the snout of the unit, I think on the driver's side, will thell you the ratio. You divide the larger number by the smaller. For instance 10 39 would indicate a 3.90:1 ratio. If you can't find the numbers, remove the rear cover and count the teeth on the ring and on the pinion.
