my '83 seems to be having a hard time starting. it often clicks and partially turns but often doesn't have much power to start up. i can tap the starter a little and hot-wire the diagnostic plug (#11 to #14) and the car will fire almost right up. any ideas what's going on? i've swapped some of the relays around and they don't seem to make much of a difference, and the fuse has a good connection.

thanks in advance!

I had this same problem... My starter motor was getting "weak". Sometime it would turn over somtimes it would not. Sometime I would have to bang on the starter itself with a wooden dowl to "loosen it up" and then it would start right up. I just replaced the starter and everything has been fine.
