As for pictures, I'll see what I can do.
Hi all,
A while ago I posted my praise for Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. I bought a complete "Sport" set from BMP and have no complaints. They advertised that the springs would lower the car by approximately an inch. However, the shock sets also said they were "special" to work with the lower ride by approximately an inch. I am now wondering if the car has in effect been lowered twice?
In particular, I am concerned about the rear. The car is definitely lowered, but the rear looks VERY lowered. I noticed the rear shock sets had four grooves in them, approximately 1" appart. The lowest groove has a (for lack of better description) big-ass circlip in it, which the rear spring lower perch sits onto. If this was in the lowest setting, but used with a spring that already lowers the ride height by an inch, isn't that a double-whammy?
Anybody ever tried to move those rear circlips up or down to adjust ride height? Seems like the same principle as a coil-over?
My rear wheels are really tucked into the rear wells. Although the car handles very well, I am concerned about the reverse-camber effect on the rear tires and any stress on the CV joints.
Does anyone think I should raise it up an inch, if that is possible?
I welcome any comments.
