Hello fellow Bimmer fans,

I am an E30 owner. So I am turning to you, the E21 message board for help in purchasing a E21.

I found this ad in a local paper for a 1983 320i.

The stat.are:

1983 320i -$950
Manual Trans., 117K
All original, clothe inter.
Very Clean, no damage or dents
Alloy wheels
New Belts, Orig. Owner

So my question is, what years where the 6cyl. models made, I know they are rare. I am almost positive that it is a 4cyl. What problems do they tend to have??

What to look for, as regard to common problems of these cars and problematic areas as well.

I am buying the car to use as a daily driver to and from work (about 30miles a day)

Let me know your thought as per price and condition, related to other cars out there.
