Also check the instrument panel, all operations and lights, heater fan motor, signs of water leaks inside glove box and floor on both sides. Test drive the car in straight road going down hill, lower gear (e.g. 2nd or 3rd gear), foot on gas and let go the gas padel, watch the rear view mirror to see if there is sign of blue smoke. Look at the car from straight rear to make sure there is not too much toe. View the car from the side, make sure the front and rear more or less the same height. Measure the heights from ground to wheel wells are the same on all corner. If you have the budget, take the car to an indepent garage (or AAA) for "x-ray". All these are precaution only, risks still exist. Finding things wrong doesn't mean its a bad deal. At least you know what kind of repair you would expect. good luck.
