How to buy a 320i......what to watch for? (archive)

I am looking at buying a early 80s 320i and have no clue what to watch for. There is a 82 320i automatic with 150k miles and there is a 83 320i with and unknown number of miles for twice the proce (3000). Both of them are said to be in good cond. but I won't know untill tomorrow. Are there any major warning signs that I should watchout for or reasons why I should not buy the car I would love to here them.
