My suspicion is that it would be worthless if the trunk opening's not modified.

The existing trunk opening doesn't allow much of an angle (or requires almost a vertical angle to ingress/egress packages) to slide & stow anything that's long to fit through to the rear seatbacks.

Of course, one can slide skis and 2x4x8 boards through the fold-down seats if done through the passenger side door...
