Get both back wheels off the ground and then rotate one side. If the other side rotates the same direction then its a LSD if it rotates opposite direction the its an open diff.

does anyone know how to spot a LSD versus the stock 320i diff. Any numbers, morphological features, etc?

P.S. I just scored a 22mm rear antisway from the junkyard, complete with mounting hardware for 6 bucks! I noticed cornering improvements immediately, bolted right on in 15 minutes. Cheapest suspension upgrade ever!
