1. Timed injection, CIS is just what it says Constant Injection System, It constantly injects fuel into the head, even when the valve is closed, this means, when the valve opens, the fuel that was pooling on the other side of the valve is not atomized, thats harder for the engine to burn.
2. Motronic is "chippable" which means that you can put an different chip in the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) to make the car go faster. This works because the ECU tells the Motronic system how to inject fuel and give spark..
3. Motronic uses an air meter box that sends an electronic signal. This can be switched to a "Mass Air Sensor". This is a solid state device that detects the flow of air into the engine, and gives no air resistance. This would take the place of a big round obstructing plate in the CIS system.
These are some of the reasons that it would be a good idea to switch the whole thing over to the 325i's engine system.
