I think, unfortunately, bimmer owners are stereotyped as yuppie snobs who can afford to repair such a terrible loss.

And the real problem is it was probably just kids trying to be cool.

Where do you live? Suburban neigborhood, or near a city?

Did you have the cops fingerprint the car? A friend of mine actually caught one of the troubled youthes who tore up his 64' Porsche 356C.....same story but in a realtively small town.

Good luck.

just before valentines day the unthinkable happened....
i looked outside and my car was gone! (82 320is)we found it the next day, next to all these tire marks.....it seems the thieves decided to have a little fun with my ultimate driving machine......they managed to wreck my tranny, burn a valve, burn off my brand new BFG's, steal my stereo, key the paint, kick in the passenger door, and slash my recaro sport seats! they crossed the line!

so of course its was a total loss but i bought it back for $100! and i am working on it everyday trying to restore it to its pre-valentines day condition. hopefully i will have some pics of the process.

im so glad i came across this forum its been so much help.
thanks, meric
